Nothing Goes to the Landfillrecycling-mobius.jpg

TechnoTrash Recycling works together with The Computer Recycling Society to provide a complete solution for processing E-Waste. Computers or components, which are viable for re-use, are re-furbished by CRS and distributed to local and international charitable organizations such as The Smile Africa Foundation. All remaining equipment is de-manufactured by TechnoTrash Recycling. Nothing goes to landfill.

Closed Loop = Zero Waste

Through a Closed Loop system of recycling we are able to achieve Zero Waste. Our goal in the recycling process is to achieve 100% resource recovery. Through ongoing research and development we improve our de-manufacturing processes, discover new and better ways of utilizing recycled materials and increase our market for re-use of materials in the manufacture of new products.

Recovery

At our facilities, equipment is de-manufactured through our “closed loop” process and source-separated:

* Metals * Glass * Plastics *

These recovered and sorted materials are returned back into various manufacturing streams to be re-used in the manufacture of new items. Some components such as chips and sockets are returned to secondary markets for re-use.

StEP Initiative

Technotrash Recycling strives to realize the essence and objectives of the United Nations' STEP program, an initiative of various UN organizations with the overall aim to solve the e-waste problem. This program's prime objectives are:

1. Optimizing the life cycle of electric and electronic equipment by improving supply chains
2. Closing material loops
3. Reducing contamination
4. Increasing utilization of resources and reuse of equipment
5. Exercising concern about disparities such as the digital divide
6. Increasing public, scientific and business knowledge
